WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): US President Donald Trump has extended gratitude to Pakistan and its Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, an hour after Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz completely open.
“Thank you to Pakistan and its Great Prime Minister and Field Marshall, two fantastic people,” he said on Truth Social post.

It came after Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared “completely open”.
In a post on X today, the Foreign Minister wrote that in line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the Strait of Hormuz is completely open for the remaining period of the ceasefire.

Trump thanks Tehran
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has welcomed Iran’s announcement of the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
“Iran has just announced that the Strait of Iran [Hormuz] is fully open and ready for full passage. Thank You,” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.
In a separate post, he said that the US military blockade of ships sailing through the Strait to Iranian ports — announced after talks with Iran last weekend in Islamabad ended without a breakthrough — remained in place.
“The Strait of Hormuz is completely open and ready for business and full passage, but the naval blockade will remain in full force and effect as it pertains to Iran, only, until such time as our transaction with Iran is 100 per cent complete,” he wrote on Truth Social in all caps.
