RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): In view of the proposed second round of talks between Iran and the US, important decisions related to security and transport have been taken in the twin cities, including the closure of bus terminals.

According to sources, it has been decided to close transport terminals from 11 pm tonight, while rent-a-car and tourism transport services will also be suspended from tonight.

It has been decided to close the bus stands in Rawalpindi for 10 days till April 26.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the CTO of Rawalpindi, attended by the district administration, traffic police, the secretary of the Transport Authority, and the officials of the Public Transport Unions.

The district administrations have informed transporters across the country about the decision and have issued instructions not to issue tickets for Rawalpindi and Islamabad from today until further notice.

According to officials, public transport will not be allowed to enter Rawalpindi and Islamabad from tomorrow through the motorway and GT Road.

Police said that the alert was issued for closing the stands due to security reasons. Small bus stands at Pir Wadhai, Pir Wadhai Mor, and Peshawar Road will be closed.

Sources further said that the supply of food items should not be affected, so consideration is being given to restoring goods transport.
