SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that the India’s BJP government is attempting to conceal its crimes in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the territory has been heavily militarized since 1989, with around a million Indian forces personnel deployed, leading to widespread human rights abuses.

The APHC maintained that thousands have been martyred and imprisoned for opposing India’s actions in the disputed territory.

Minhas appealed to the UN to address the situation and implement relevant resolutions to provide relief to the people of IIOJK.

Kashmiris facing Indian wrath

The spokesman said Kashmiris are facing Indian wrath for demanding their right to self-determination, with Indian troops conducting widespread cordon-and-search operations, raids, and arrests to suppress the freedom movement.

India is subjecting IIOJK people to collective punishment for demanding a UN-mandated plebiscite.

The Modi regime, he added, is denying space to pro-freedom people in IIOJK by arresting them on fake charges.

UN resolutions have upheld the Kashmiris’ right to decide their future through a plebiscite, but India has been defying these resolutions for decades, he added.

“Despite brutal tactics, India cannot conquer the Kashmiris’ passion for freedom. The UN is duty-bound to resolve the Kashmir dispute and stop the bloodshed in IIOJK,” the spokesman added.
