VC Women University Bagh calls on AJK PM Rathore

BAGH, AJK (Kashmir English): Professor Dr. Aneela Kamal, Vice Chancellor of Women University Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Bagh, met with Prime Minister Azad Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore.

She provided the Prime Minister with a detailed briefing on the ongoing projects of Women University Bagh under the Azad Government and the Federal Government, and discussed other academic matters and the financial challenges faced by the university.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Vice Chancellor on being appointed as the first female Vice Chancellor in Azad Kashmir and extended his best wishes.

The Prime Minister assured the early approval of the revised PC-1 for the ongoing project of the Azad Kashmir government, which includes the boundary wall of the University and 50 kanals of leveled land, and the construction of a 5-kilometer road to connect the buildings being constructed with the support of the Federal Government, which will be completed this year.

The Vice Chancellor, while briefing to the PM, stated that under the ongoing projects of the Federal Government and the Higher Education Commission Islamabad, six buildings are in the final stages of completion under the revised project of Rs1795 million, and a revised estimate of Rs2500 million has been submitted for the second project, under which six buildings are also under construction.

Women Software Technology Park in Bagh

Additionally, the first Women Software Technology Park is being established under the Pakistan Software Export Board with Rs31 million, which has been completed, and the Federal Minister for IT and the Azad Kashmir Government will inaugurate it soon.

The Prime Minister assured measures to resolve the financial difficulties faced by the university and reiterated that the Azad Kashmir government will not only resolve the issues of the state’s only Women University on a priority basis but will also utilize all available resources to provide higher education to the girls of the state.
