DUBAI (Kashmir English): The effects of the US-Israel war on Iran have had a long-lasting impact on the Middle East region, also affecting Dubai, where this year’s Film Awards 16 have now been cancelled.

The event was scheduled to be held at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena on May 9, that has now been cancelled and is expected to be held at another date.

In a message posted by the organisers of the ceremony on Instagram, they announced that the awards scheduled to be held in Dubai have now been postponed “due to the current situation in the region”.

The organisers went on to say “the safety and well-being of our guests, partners and community remain our utmost concern”.

The organisers have yet to announce the new location and date of the postponed event.

With Abu Dhabi and Dubai both affected by the war, the safety of citizens and tourists in the Middle East is still a matter of concern.

Iran-US conflict

Iran’s retaliatory strikes on US bases in the region have resulted in deaths due to falling debris after interception, as well as damage to properties. At the moment, it is not clear when the conflict will de-escalate.
