KARACHI (Kashmir English): Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) member Advocate Sardar Jawad Anwar has been arrested in Karachi in a case registered with Kotli Police.
According to the police, he was wanted in a robbery case, which took place in the jurisdiction of Naar Police Station.
The first information report (FIR) stated that a robbery took place in the Naar area of Kotli on March 14, 2026, in which Rs27.5 million was snatched from an individual named Rehan.
On March 24, the police arrested five suspects in the robbery case. During the investigation, the name of Advocate Jawad Anwar also surfaced as an accomplice in the robbery.
Police said that the suspect went to Karachi, from where he was going to travel abroad. However, police said that he was stopped from getting on board as his name was on the stop list.
Kotli police said that his details were shared with the Karachi Police, who made the arrest. The team from Kotli Police is on the way to Karachi to take over the suspect, sources said.
