ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A new private airline is preparing to launch operations in Pakistan’s aviation market, with flight operations expected to begin in the coming months

Reports alleged that the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) had coordinated with the officials of the new airline, Air Karachi, and completed the necessary arrangements ahead of the launch.

The airline has finalised aircraft leasing agreements and is likely to start regular operations in May or June this year.

The company will begin with domestic routes, connecting major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Sukkur, Multan, Quetta, and Peshawar.

After establishing its domestic network, the airline plans to expand to international destinations within a year.

On the other hand, another airline, especially for cargo, is also near the launch.

As per details, TCS, a logistics company, is acquiring a Boeing 747-400 aircraft, which it will initially use for cargo services only.

C-Tow Air, which already operates cargo flights, is expanding its fleet and plans to add another Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

Several experts in the airline sector said that the launch of a new cargo airline would be beneficial for Pakistan’s local companies as it would surely support the domestic industry and exports.

According to the official statistics, 90,000 to 100,000 passengers travel to domestic and international destinations from Pakistan using domestic airlines, including Fly Jinnah, PIA, AirSial, and several foreign airlines, including those from the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.
