MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has said that work on the multi-billion-rupee optical fiber project will begin immediately after Eid.

The optical fiber project will set Azad Kashmir on new paths of digital development, he added. He hoped that high-speed and quality internet will revolutionize education, health, and e-governance in the state.

First such project for AJK

PM Rathore said the optical fiber project will create new employment opportunities in IT for the youth. “For the first time, a government project to lay optical fiber has been approved in Azad Kashmir.”

The PM said the credit for the optical fiber project goes to the public government of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party as he appreciated the efforts of Chief Secretary Khushal Khan and Secretary IT Muhammad Rashid Haneef.

He assured the public that the government is committed to providing better facilities to the public through modern technology. He said connecting every citizen to the digital world is a priority of the government.

The PM hoped that the optical fiber project will guarantee a bright future for Azad Kashmir.
