SIALKOT (Kashmir English): The newest franchise of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Sialkot Stallionz, signed former Australian captain Steve Smith ahead of the 11th edition, marking the biggest direct signing of the tournament’s history.
The franchise announced on Tuesday through its official social media accounts.
“One of the Biggest Signings in PSL History: A game-changer, powerhouse player— we welcome Steve Smith on board as a Stallion,” the franchise wrote on social media.
Smith will feature for the first time in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) this year, as he previously played several top T20I leagues, including the Big Bash League (BBL), The Hundred, the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Most recently, he featured in BBL 15 for Sydney Sixers, scoring 299 runs in six matches, including a century and two fifties.

Earlier, Stallionz appointed former Australia captain Tim Paine as the head coach.
“We’re proud to announce Tim Paine as the Head Coach of Sialkot Stallionz,” the franchise wrote in posts on social media platforms.
Kamil Khan, Owner of Sialkot Stallionz, said that Tim Paine represents leadership at the highest level of world cricket.
“His journey as an international captain and his extensive experience across elite programs make him the ideal person to lead our cricketing vision,” he said.
The 41-year-old Tim Paine has been an assistant coach at Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League and has led a Prime Minister’s XI against India and England in the past two years. For his national side, he remained captain in 23 Tests between 2018 and 2020, winning 11 and losing eight.
The 11th edition of PSL is scheduled to be played from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
