QUETTA (Kashmir English): The Balochistan government has warned that the families which didn’t report their ‘missing’ relatives with militant links would face legal action.

The Government of Balochistan had earlier categorically announced that families of individuals who join terrorist organizations such as the BLA/ BLF and their factions, and fail to report or formally disassociate themselves from such elements, would face strict legal and administrative restrictions.

These restrictions include blocking of passports, freezing of bank accounts, suspension of mobile SIMs, prohibition on purchase or sale of property, termination of contracts with government organizations, and cancellation of government employment and termination of tenders/official engagements.

Following the recent attack by BLA on 31 January, the identities of 140 BLA terrorists have been confirmed. “The State of Pakistan is now proceeding with the implementation of this policy, which has been categorically announced multiple times.,” said a public notice issued by the provincial government.

“It is clarified that families who voluntarily reported the involvement of their relatives and formally disassociated themselves from terrorist elements will not face any restrictions.”

The announcement further said that the action is being taken in the interest of national security, rule of law, and public safety.
