MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Commissioner Mirpur Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan has ordered an operation against encroachers on forest land across the division.
On Friday, two separate meetings of officers from the Revenue department, Police, Forest, and Food Authority departments of Mirpur Division were held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Mirpur Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan.
The meetings were attended by Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Raja Muhammad Sadaqat Khan, SSP Khurram Iqbal, Forest Director Raja Zahid Hussain Khan, District Food Controller and Food Safety Officer Adnan Ali Naqvi, Information Officer Muhammad Javed Malik, while Deputy Commissioner Bhimber Chaudhry Haq Nawaz, SSP Raja Akmal Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kotli Raja Imran Shaheen, and district officers from the Forest, Revenue, and Food Authority departments participated via video link.
In the meeting, instructions were given regarding the recovery of illegally occupied forest areas in light of the decisions of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court, and instructions were also given regarding food quality in all three districts of the division.
Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan instructed all Deputy Commissioners and district officers of the Forest Department not to allow any kind of encroachment on forest areas in their respective areas. He stated that if a complaint is received in this regard, no leniency would be shown.

The Forest Director of Mirpur Division will prepare a report regarding old encroachments and develop a complete plan for the recovery.
The administration and police will provide full support for the recovery of forest areas from illegal encroachers.
