Online friendship: German doctor arrives in Pakistan to marry friend

MANDI BAHAUDDIN (Kashmir English): A 26-year-old German doctor arrived in Mandi Bahauddin to wed a Pakistani young man after falling in love while playing online game.

22-year-old Muhammad Akmal, from Deefar village in Mandi Bahauddin, invited 26-year-old German doctor Salma to Pakistan and married her.

In an interview with a YouTube channel, Muhammad Akmal said that their conversation started on online game Roblox and they talked online for about five months, after which Salma decided to come to Pakistan and marry him.

Akmal said that he proposed to Salma on the very first day, and after a few days delay, she arrived in Pakistan.

Salma said that upon arriving in Pakistan, she was initially surprised to see village life and daily chores, but she was happy to be with her husband.

Salma said that village chores like washing clothes and dishes and making bread were a new experience, and although it felt difficult in the first few days, she learned it.

Akmal said that the family fully supported the wedding, and approximately 4.5 million rupees were spent, which included travel expenses and the wedding ceremony.

Salma holds German and Bosnian passports

Salma has two passports, German and Bosnian, and she wants to spend her life in Pakistan with Akmal.

Salma said that she is also learning Punjabi and Urdu for easier communication. Akmal said that life after marriage is pleasant and both are living together with love and respect.

Social media users praised the couple’s simplicity, sincerity, and love. This marriage is seen as a successful story of love, cultural integration, and online friendship.
