ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has facilitated the citizens with an option to change or refresh their image via the Pak ID app for the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
The option that NADRA is giving now means that citizens can change their CNIC pictures on their own without going to a registration centre. NADRA revealed this piece of information after giving an answer to a question posted by a citizen on social media, who wanted to know if there was a possibility of changing the CNIC photo and how to do it.
In its reply, NADRA stated that customers can get access to their Pak ID account and click on the “Update Card” option to make a request for a CNIC photograph change.
Guidelines for Capturing Photographs
The NADRA guidelines show that applicants must adhere to the following instructions when taking their photo through the app:
- When in the photo stage, hit “Capture” and choose to use either the front camera or the back one.
- Make sure that the face is brightly lit, no shadow cast, and the hair is not covering the eyes.
- There must not be anything blocking the face.
- The background must be plain white, glasses need to be taken off, and the lighting must be good.
- Be at the proper distance from the camera so that the face can be seen very clearly.
- Men may wear headgear, caps, or turbans, as long as the whole face is visible
- Women can wear hijab during the photo shoot, but the face and chin must be very clear.
- Keep the face in the round frame that appears on the camera screen.
The photo capture process can be considered successful when the circle on the screen turns green. Keep your cool and still while taking the picture. The NADRA stated that the project is aimed at easing the burden on citizens by introducing digital services through the Pak ID mobile application.
