LAHORE (Kashmir English): In a groundbreaking move, the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory has prepared a detailed video report confirming the presence of key Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the 9 May violence.
According to the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory reports, PTI leaders, including Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Kamran Bangash, Taimur Jhagra, and Irfan Saleem, were present in the May 9 incidents.
This development comes after the Peshawar High Court (PHC) ordered the Peshawar Police to do a further detailed examination, and the videos stored on a USB were sent to the Peshawar East Police Station were utilized during the analysis. The forensic team painstakingly went through each frame of the 16 videos included in the USB.
In the case of many of the videos, the forensic lab found no signs of editing. In some of the clips, however, there were some changes detected, such as the introduction of logos and texts.
More importantly, there were indications that clips had been amalgamated in two videos, which showed Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Irfan Saleem.
The forensic specialists utilized the profile pictures of Sohail Afridi to identify the person in the video, thus confirming they are indeed the same individual. Moreover, the profile picture of Irfan Saleem was also confirmed to coincide with his representation in the videos.
Additionally, Kamran Bangash and Taimur Jhagra were also subjected to the same confirmation process, and their profile pictures were found to be the same as those seen in the footage.
It should be mentioned that all the investigations were confined to the visual content only. The report was prepared from December 19 to December 23, 2025, in response to a request from an anti-terrorism court that required data on the Radio Pakistan attack case. The police had dispatched the recordings to the Punjab Forensic Laboratory for this purpose.
