MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Shaukat Nawaz Mir, senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, and President of Central Anjuman-e-Tajiran Muzaffarabad, has asked the government to meet their demands before the 90-day deadline expires.
He said they had given 90-days-time to the government in this regard, adding only a few days are left in the deadline.
Addressing traders during his visit to Chinari, Shaukat Nawaz Mir clarified that in October, Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, and Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai asked them for 6 months to fulfil the demands.
“We said that we would not give 6 months, and it was agreed in writing between the parties that all issues would be resolved within three months. Our biggest demand was for the twelve seats of migrants residing in Pakistan and the abolition of elite privileges.”
“JAAC is morally bound”
Shaukat Nawaz said that they are morally and legally bound for 90 days deadline adding when the migrant members were made chairmen, the other party violated the agreement. “You violated the agreement, still we’re morally bound for 90 days.”
“After 90 day-time, a meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee will be immediately convened to announce a unanimous action plan for the people of the entire state.”
He also congratulated Raja Shahzad Gul on his success and Mir Khalid Latif for putting up a good fight in the elections.
