RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): At least eight terrorists were gunned down, and twelve others were injured in an operation by security forces in Lakki Marwat, according to ISPR.
The bodies of four Khawarij were recovered by the security agencies.
One police constable and one Village Defense Committee (VDC) member embraced martyrdom, whereas two policemen and four VDC members sustained injuries.
According to security sources, VDC and militants exchanged fire on December 25 near the Takhti Khel graveyard.
During the exchange of fire, militants deployed automatic guns and quadcopters, as well as two aerial bombs, to target civilian residences in Tap Takhti Khel village.
There were no civilian injuries recorded.
In a follow-up operation on December 27, three militant retrieved from the Takhti Khel graveyard.
According to security sources, the killed militants included a high-value target (HVT), Nusrat, who was recently designated by the banned Fitna Al-Khawarij (FAK) organization as Head of Preaching and Guidance for Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan.
Security officials stated that close coordination was maintained among the VDC, police from Lakki Marwat and Bannu, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and the Pakistan Army throughout the operation.
