ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is scheduled to visit Pakistan today.
The federal capital has declared an official holiday today on the occasion of his coming to Pakistan.
According to a spokesperson from the National Assembly Secretariat, the Secretariat will remain closed on Friday, with all departments and activities, including standing committee meetings, postponed. New dates for the rescheduled meetings will be announced later.
Traffic plan on UAE President’s visit
In light of the foreign dignitary’s arrival, Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a special traffic advisory. Various city routes will be closed for traffic from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with diversions set up on the Expressway and Murree/Kashmir Road (Club Road).
Motorists traveling on the Expressway are directed to use Rawat to Rawalpindi-Peshawar Road. For access to the Expressway from IJ Principal Road and Srinagar Highway, service roads are recommended.
Commuters have been advised to allow an additional 20–25 minutes for their journeys.
Traffic police officers will be stationed on key routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and assist commuters during the visit.
