ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The district administration has declared a public holiday in Islamabad on December 26 due to the arrival of a high-level foreign delegation in the federal capital.
According to the notification issued by the District Magistrate, “26th December, 2025 (Friday), is hereby declared as a Local Holiday within the revenue limits of the Islamabad Capital Territory.”
The offices of essential services, including MCI, CDA, ICT Administration, ICT Police, IESCO, SNGPL, and Hospitals, will remain operational as per usual.
The holiday came in the wake of the visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Pakistan on December 26.
The foreign office said that the ruler of Abu Dhabi will undertake a one-day official visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Ministers and senior officials. “This will be his first visit to Pakistan as the President of the UAE.”
“During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed will hold a meeting with the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where the two leaders will review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest,” the FO said.
Furthermore, it added that the visit will provide an important opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
