LARKANA (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has said that the credit for the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) government in Azad Kashmir goes to President Asif Zardari, adding that the party’s political journey has strengthened significantly over the past few years.

Speaking to the media during his visit to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh in Larkana, the AJK premier said that the PPP began its journey with only 11 seats in the 2021 elections and has now expanded it to 29 seats.

“Our time in government may be short, but whenever we got the opportunity, we raised our voice for the rights of the people,” he said.

Moreover, Rathore emphasized that the people living along the Line of Control (LoC) continue to face immense challenges due to the presence of Indian forces across the border.

He said that the current PPP-led government in AJK is a “trailer” for the 2026 general election, and the party aims to return with even greater strength.

He further stated that the bond between Pakistan and Kashmir remains unbreakable. “Slogans of ‘We are Pakistanis’ echo in the streets of Kashmir,” he said. The PM added that the upcoming government term, from 2026 to 2031, will belong to the PPP.

PM Faisal Mumtaz further claimed that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will become the Prime Minister of Pakistan in the upcoming election.

Highlighting the government’s recent achievements, he said that the PPP government in Azad Kashmir immediately issued the health card upon assuming office. He announced that several major development projects will be unveiled in the coming days.

Earlier, the AJK Prime Minister, along with former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, senior PPP leader Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz, Most Senior Minister Mian Abdul Waheed Advocate, and ministers Sardar Javed Ayub, Malik Zafar, and Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, visited the mausoleum of the Bhutto family.

They visited the graves of Qaida-e-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, Mohtarma Begum Nusrat Bhutto, and other deceased members of the Bhutto family. The PPP leaders laid the wreaths and offered Fateha for the forgiveness, eternal peace, and elevation of the deceased.
