CALIFORNIA (Kashmir English): WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for iPhone users, through which accounts with two separate phone numbers can now be easily operated on the same device.
According to WhatsApp, under this new feature, each account will have its own chat history, notifications, profile settings and privacy, and users will be able to easily switch between them through the account list in the settings menu.
This feature is especially useful for users who want to use personal and work numbers on the same phone, and they will not need to use additional phones or a business WhatsApp.
The multi-account feature is currently available on iOS beta version 25.34.10.72 or later. Notifications will clearly indicate which account is receiving the message when users switch between accounts, and authentication features like Face ID and Touch ID will also be enabled for security.
According to initial reports, beta users have tested the feature in select areas, and a general release date is yet to be announced.
