ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Chairman of Prime Minister Youth Program (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has increased the quota of laptops under the PM Laptop scheme.
The extension of the quota system has been specifically made for students of Balochistan. PM Shehbaz has increased the quota from 10,000 to 18,000.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Artificial Intelligence and Cybercrime courses in Chagai DHA Quetta, Rana Mashhood said that the federal government is committed to equipping the youth with modern technical education and skills.
He said that the federation is very much relevant in skill development amongst the youth in Balochistan and that the PM Youth Program would further scale up its initiatives across the province.
He further underlined that the promotion of the agriculture sector remains a key government priority, and many young people from Balochistan have recently received startup loans under PMYP initiatives.
Mashhood further mentioned that the world is changing fast, and our youth is becoming job providers from job seekers. He said that Pakistan was one of the few countries to have a national policy on Artificial Intelligence.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has enhanced Newtech funds to ensure employment of the youth, especially in the Middle East, Europe, Korea, Canada, and the United States, and concomitantly, their foreign exchange earnings would be doubled within three years.
