RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): After a long period of 10 years, traders at the Rawalpindi’s Commercial Market will chose their representatives on February 13 (Thursday).
Candidates have submitted their nomination papers in this regard. Fourteen members of the 26-member General Executive Council will act as the Election Commission, which will be headed by Javed Ahmed Chaudhry. The process for the scrutiny of nomination papers is underway after which the final list will be displayed. So far, two candidates for the President slot have come forward. Raja Tawheed Ahmed from the Business Group and Malik Sohail Akhtar Awan from the Dost Business Group will compete for the top slot.
The elections have gained much attention among the trader community. The election fever is at its peak in the market. The total number of voters in these elections are 1700 who will exercise their right to vote on February 13.
