Food Authority launches crackdown on substandard food products in Samahni

SAMAHNI (Kashmir English): The Food Authority has launched a massive crackdown against substandard food items sold in the Samahni district.

The Food Authority, headed by DFC Raja Mahmood Ali Khan, visited the main market, Chowki Bazaar, and Jandala Bazaar in Samahni.

Action was taken against several shopkeepers selling substandard and unhealthy items to the public, and corrective notices were issued along with fines.

During the visit, food safety teams checked various grocery stores and shops where ice cream was stored in the freezer.

Later, after checking, the substandard ice cream was destroyed on the spot, and food business operators were strictly instructed to sell only those registered companies whose documents and list of goods were also available to the food business operators.

In addition, various bakers, shawarma points, milk shops, and hotels were also checked. Fines were imposed for poor cleanliness and the use of substandard ketchup.

The Food Authority Team Bhimber informed the food business operators to sell only the products of registered companies so that the public can get clean and quality food.

In case of non-compliance, strict action will be taken against the concerned food business operator under the Food Authority rules.
