MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir government has once again invited the leaders of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) for talks to resolve ongoing issues in Azad Kashmir.

While addressing a press conference along with ministers Qasim Majeed and Diwan Ali Chughtai, Local Government Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region.

Rathore, who is also a member of the government’s negotiation team, stressed the importance of a peaceful environment, suggesting that lockdowns align with India’s agenda.

Talking to the reporters, he highlighted the assembly floor as a platform to resolve public issues, encouraging the JAAC leaders to engage in dialogue.

The minister noted that the government has already accepted some points of the action committee’s Charter of Demand and is willing to discuss others in the legislative assembly.

Rathore reiterated the government’s openness to dialogue, urging the JAAC leaders to come forward and discuss their demands. He explained that laws are made through the assembly, and decisions require the approval of its members.

“The government is willing to settle issues through peaceful means and dialogue, ensuring the welfare of the people of Azad Kashmir,” he said.
