ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to increase from September 16, 2025, for a period of two weeks, after oil prices strengthened in international markets on the back of fresh geopolitical tensions.
According to the sources, the Petrol will go up by Rs. 1.54 per litre to Rs. 266.15, an increase of 0.6% from the current Rs. 264.61.
High-speed diesel, used commonly in transport and farming sectors, can increase by Rs. 4.79 per litre to Rs. 274.78, a 1.8% rise.
Additionally, Kerosene is expected to rise by Rs. 3.06 per liter to Rs. 179.87, and light diesel oil may rise by Rs. 3.68 to Rs. 163.44, a 2.3% rise.
The government cut diesel by Rs. 3 per liter on September 1, but did not touch petrol.
The most recent adjustment follows increased crude prices after Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia’s Primorsk port, one of the major Baltic Sea ports, disrupted exports.
Earlier, the federal government maintained the petrol prices while reducing the prices of diesel.
