KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Sindh Education Department on Monday dismissed social media reports claiming that schools will remain closed in Karachi, terming them as fake.
In a statement issued on X, the Sindh Education Department spokesperson said that the notification circulating on social media regarding college education is fake.
It added that all educational institutions will remain open as usual tomorrow.
“The decision to close educational institutions will be made based on the situation, and the public will be informed promptly,” the education department statement reads.

Earlier, a “fake” notification was circulating on social media, claiming that the Sindh government has announced a holiday in all public and private educational institutions across Karachi on Thursday, September 09, 2025.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department, heavy to moderate rain is forecasted in Karachi over the next three days. Authorities advised citizens to take precautionary measures in view of the forecast and urged people to avoid unnecessary travel to prevent any untoward situation.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said the city administration has taken measures to handle expected rains from September 8 to 10, urging citizens to stay calm and avoid panic.
