MUSCAT (Kashmir English): In a major development regarding visa facilitation for Pakistani citizens, the government of Oman has agreed to Pakistan’s request to open visa opportunities for Pakistanis under 11 professional categories.

Pakistan Ambassador to Oman, Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, in an interview with The Arabian Stories, said, “The Oman government agreed to our proposal to open visas for eleven categories of professionals, which more or less covers all the principal professions.”

Syed Bokhari termed the development a welcome move towards the long-term vision of removing all the restrictions.

He was also hopeful about an announcement in the coming days that will ease visas for Pakistani businesspersons who want to venture into the Omani market.

Bokhari further added that visas for semi-skilled and unskilled workers are expected to be opened in the near future.

“The end vision is to have all these restrictions removed. That may take a few more weeks or months, but that is the end vision, and we are on the right track. We are going in the right direction,” he stressed.
