MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The first meeting of the Azad Kashmir Development Working Party (AKDWP) for the Financial Year 2025-26 was held in Muzaffarabad today to review several projects.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Atif-ur-Rehman and attended by representatives from various departments.
According to the details, the working party considered the revised project worth Rs 602.9 million to promote natural plantation in restricted forests managed by the Forest Department.
Furthermore, it reviewed a revised project worth Rs 650 million for Police Safe City at the divisional level in Azad Kashmir and a project worth Rs 127.6 million for monitoring social and digital media, managed by the Information Department.
The meeting also considered nine projects worth over Rs 2.27 billion for the construction, improvement, and repair of link/main roads in Neelum, Bagh, Poonch, Sidhnuti, and Mirpur districts, under the supervision of the Highways Department.
Construction of a College of Technology building in Bhimber district under the administration of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Tewata was also reviewed.
Moreover, the meeting also reviewed the project related to the feasibility and exploration of six-dimensional precious mineral stone deposits in Neelum district under the administration of the Department of Minerals and construction projects of mini sports grounds in Azad Kashmir.
The working party further discussed the extension of the duration of the project for the computerization of land records and automation of the sub-judiciary under the administration of the Information Technology Board.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Planning Commission of Pakistan, the Finance Department, Secretaries of the concerned departments, and Officers of the Planning and Development Department.
