Pakistan in U-16 Asian Volleyball Quarters after three consecutive wins

NAKHON PHANOM, Thailand (Kashmir English): Pakistan have reached into the quarter-finals of the U-16 Asian Volleyball Championship in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand after it defeated Saudi Arabia 3-0 on Sunday, marking their third consecutive win in the tournament.

In what is being said as an impressive performance, Pakistan outplayed Saudi Arabia 25-14, 25-13, 25-12 in a pool D match. Juniad, Wahab, Faizan and Irfan played well for Pakistan.

Asian Volleyball Confederation

According to the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the Championship will be held in Nakhon Pathom and co-host city Ratchaburi from July 12 to 19, 2025.

Sixteen national teams from across Asia will compete for the title, with the tournament also serving as the qualification pathway for the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U17 World Championship.

The top four teams from this event will secure qualification to the 2026 Boys’ U17 World Championship, which will feature 24 teams, an expansion from the inaugural edition held in 2024 in Sofia, Bulgaria, which included 16 teams.

From 2026 onwards, the U17 category will align with the U19 and U21 categories in terms of structure, further enhancing global opportunities for youth development across all five continental confederations.

The semifinals and final of the Asian U16 Championship are scheduled for July 19.
