ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has said that despite Indian oppression, the Kashmiri people are steadfast in their struggle for their right to self-determination, and Pakistan will continue to extend political, diplomatic, and moral support to them.

In a video message released on the occasion of the Day of Exploitation (Youm-e-Istehsal) of Kashmir, the Deputy Prime Minister said that India has been depriving the Kashmiris of their fundamental right for the last seventy-eight years.

After August 5, 2019, it has tried to suppress the voice of the Kashmiris through measures such as changing the population ratio, imposing restrictions on the media, and arresting political activists.

He urged the international community to take steps not only to improve the human rights situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir but also to ensure that the Kashmiris get their right to self-determination.

Ishaq Dar said that despite all these atrocities, the Kashmiri people have not backed down in their struggle for their right to self-determination. He demanded that the international community ensure that Kashmiris are given their rights as per the UN resolutions and that human rights violations in occupied Kashmir be stopped.

He further said that until the Kashmiris get their right to self-determination, Pakistan will continue to cooperate with them on political, diplomatic, and moral levels.
