KANDY (Kashmir English): With the match between Zimbabwe and Ireland washed out on Tuesday, World Cup winners Australia have been knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2026.

As the match was abandoned without a bowl being bowled, Zimbabwe shared a point with Ireland, bringing them to second place in Group B with 5 points, which means Australia cannot catch them even after winning their last group-stage match against Oman.

With this, Zimbabwe has qualified for the Super Eights for the first time in T20 World Cup history, and Australia has been eliminated from the T20 World Cup.
