President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Youm-e-Ilhaaq-e-Pakistan is a powerful symbol of the Kashmiri people’s deep and lasting bond with Pakistan. In his message on this historic day, the President stated that the sacrifices of Kashmiris continue to be recognized across the world as a shining example of freedom, resilience, and determination.

The President highlighted that on Youm-e-Ilhaaq-e-Pakistan, July 19, 1947, the people of Jammu and Kashmir passed a landmark resolution declaring their decision to accede to Pakistan. He said that this day reflects the strong emotional and historical connection that Kashmiris have with Pakistan.

Despite decades of Indian oppression, President Zardari praised the Kashmiri people for standing firm in their peaceful struggle for the right to self-determination. He reassured them that Pakistan would continue to offer full moral, political, and diplomatic support until the Kashmiri people are granted their right under the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

“Youm-e-Ilhaaq-e-Pakistan is not just a day of remembrance, but a reminder of our unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s just struggle,” the President said in his statement issued by the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

He expressed hope that the day is not far when the people of Kashmir will achieve freedom from Indian occupation and fulfill their aspirations for self-determination.

Kashmiris across the region and beyond also observed Youm-e-Ilhaaq-e-Pakistan with renewed commitment to their cause. Rallies, seminars, and public gatherings were held in various parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to mark the day and honor the historic resolution of 1947.

In his message, the President expressed confidence that the Kashmiri people’s struggle will one day bear fruit and they will achieve freedom from Indian occupation.
