ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs, Engineer Amir Muqam, held an important meeting with Prime Minister’s National Coordinator for Tourism, Sardar Yasir Ilyas, on Thursday in Islamabad.
In a statement issued on Yasir Ilyas’ Facebook channel, the meeting focused on exploring new avenues to boost tourism across Pakistan, with particular emphasis on enhancing tourism-related investments in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, two of the country’s most scenic and culturally rich regions.
Both sides exchanged views on developing short-term and long-term strategies to strengthen the tourism infrastructure, attract international tourists, and create employment opportunities in the sector.
The discussion also included identifying key areas where immediate interventions could lead to sustainable economic impact.
Minister Amir Muqam extended heartfelt congratulations to Sardar Yasir Ilyas on his recent appointment as the Prime Minister’s National Coordinator for Tourism and expressed confidence in his ability to bring visionary leadership to the tourism portfolio.
