SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The civil society has urged all international forums like United Nations, European Union and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to help stop the rising human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian forces and Bharatiya Janata Party regime in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the call was made by the participants of a meeting of civil society members in Srinagar to discuss “Jammu and Kashmir after August 5, 2019.”

The civil society members, including Dr Zubair Ahmed Raja, Muhammad Farhan, Muhammad Iqbal Shaheen and Syed Haider Hussain, in a meeting in Srinagar called for the restoration of articles 370 and 35-A in their original form and find an immediate solution to the Kashmir dispute in line with the United Nations resolutions.

They said Indian government must be pressured to stop excessive use of force on the innocent people in the occupied territory.

The participants strongly condemned the killing of a youth in a fake encounter in Jammu and attachment of property of a youth in Sopore by the Manoj Sinha-led BJP regime.

Commitment of Kashmiri people for freedom

They said that the commitment of Kashmiri people for freedom had frustrated India which had adopted a brutal policy to prevent the people of Kashmir from their just struggle for right to self-determination.

They urged the United Nations and the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of unabated bloodshed in the territory.
