TOKYO: Pakistan’s javelin ace Arshad Nadeem is in action as the men’s javelin final round at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 is underway.

Pakistanis and fans around the world are glued to their TV screen to watch Nadeem, the Olympic champion, and are praying for a medal in the world championship.

The final lineup includes the sport’s very best: Grenada’s Anderson Peters, Germany’s Julian Weber, Kenya’s Julius Yego, Poland’s Dawid Wegner, and his arch-rival, India’s Neeraj Chopra, making this a clash of world and Olympic medalists.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nadeem qualified for the javelin throw final with a throw of 85.28m.

He qualified for the final clash in his third and final attempt after an unimpressive throw of  74.17m in the first and 76.99m in the second attempt.

Arshad Nadeem is currently ranked 10th with his maximum throw of 82.75m. His first attempt was 82.73, while Nadeem’s second and fourth were not declared valid.

Keshorn Walcott, the athlete from Trinidad and Tobago, takes the lead with a massive 87.83m. He was the London 2012 champion.
