Work From Home announced for offices in Islamabad’s Red Zone

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): All the federal government employees at Ministries, Divisions, and all the offices under the Federal government located in any of the buildings in the Red zone of Islamabad will observe a Work from home (WFH) on Tuesday, the 23rd June, 2026.

“It is hereby notified that the government employees in the Ministries, Divisions, and their attached offices located within the Red Zone, Islamabad, will work from home on 23rd June, 2026, to avoid traffic Congestion, road closures, and possible security concerns in the Red Zone and ensure smooth conduct of the visits of the Iranian President.”

The notification was issued by the Cabinet division on Monday, on the eve of the visit of the Iranian President to Pakistan. Meanwhile, some government offices will remain operational on June 23rd on special directions.

Banks located in the red zone will also remain operational on June 23rd. Other organisations which will continue to work as usual on June 23rd, on special directions are “Autonomous bodies & attached bodies in the red zone are not allowed under the WFH scheme.

Officer & Secretarial Staff shall remain at the station and shall attend the office on short notice as and when required.” The Iranian President will reach the country for an official visit upon an invitation by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with his high-level delegation comprising senior officials and ministers, the premier said on X.
