MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): For the first time, a Women Anti-Harassment and Child Protection Center has been established in 15 offices of Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir.

This center was inaugurated by IG Azad Kashmir Rana Abdul Jabbar. During the inauguration ceremony, IG Azad Kashmir Rana Abdul Jabbar, while talking to reporters, said that through this center, legal assistance will be provided to women and children. Never think of committing such a crime again, IG Azad Kashmir.

According to IG Azad Kashmir, all police stations will now be interconnected through this center. Once a complaint is lodged, it will be processed and monitored directly from the center, ensuring swift and transparent action.

Explaining the system’s procedure, the IG said that if an arrest is required, the center will coordinate with the relevant police station in the suspect’s residential area for verification and action.

In cases involving women, female police officers will accompany or handle arrests to ensure proper protocol and respect.

He further added that the center will also address domestic and family-related disputes—such as those involving children or marital issues—to resolve them amicably before they escalate into legal or criminal cases. However, in matters requiring punishment or legal intervention, the police will proceed accordingly.
