MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The weather will remain mixed in various districts of Azad Kashmir today, with clouds in some places and light rain in others.

The temperature in Muzaffarabad is expected to remain up to 24 degrees Celsius, while in Mirpur it will remain around 18 degrees. In Bagh today, the mercury can go up to 21 degrees, and in the upper areas of Neelum Valley like Kiel, the weather is quite cold, where the temperature will remain up to only 6 degrees Celsius.

Overall, rain and snowfall on the mountains are forecast across most of Kashmir from tonight, which may increase the intensity of cold again. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures while traveling.

Weather forecast

The Meteorological Department has also issued a forecast for other parts of the country in the next 24 hours. The weather in Islamabad will remain partly cloudy, with rain expected in some areas overnight.

In a weather forecast issued on March 5, the PMD stated, “Rain-wind-thunderstorm predicted in northern areas on 06th & 07th and from 09th to 11th March.”

“Partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions with the chances of light to moderate rain, wind, thunderstorm in the districts of Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kurum, Khyber, Mohmand, Kohistan, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Malakand, and in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from March 09th to 11 with occasional gaps.”

Rain expected in Islamabad

The light to moderate rain is also expected in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Murree, Galliyat, and surroundings on March 10 and 11, the Met office stated.

The weather will remain dry and hot during the day in most parts of Punjab; however, light rain is likely in Rawalpindi, Attock, Murree, and Galiyat at night. The weather is predicted to remain dry and hot in most districts of Sindh and Balochistan.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a weather outlook for the next three months, according to which rainfall is likely to be above normal in the central and western regions of the country, southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, central Punjab, and northern Balochistan during March to May.

Due to the increasing effects of westerly winds, rainfall is expected to increase in the spring season, while rainfall in the southern areas of Sindh and Balochistan will remain normal.
