ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): WhatsApp is working on a handy new feature that will provide users with the ability to save their unposted status updates as drafts.
This update is expected to fix the common issue whereby users lose their progress if they exit the status screen before posting. The new option will make it easier to pause editing and return to a status without starting from scratch.
A prompt will appear when a user starts creating a status update and leaves the screen halfway through, giving the options to save the status as a draft, discard, or continue editing. If saved, the draft will automatically appear the next time the user opens the status editor.
This feature will provide a greater sense of control for the users and remove the stress of losing a long or detailed update in case of some interruption.
Some people use WhatsApp status for sharing thoughts, photos, announcements, and business updates. Most of these take time to prepare, and sudden interruptions do make users lose their work. In that case, with the draft option, users can pick up exactly where they left off.
This update brings WhatsApp closer to the style of editing in other social media apps, such as Instagram, where drafts are used for both stories and posts.
