MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its latest weather forecast for Sunday, April 20, 2025, stating that there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms, strong winds and hail in various parts of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the report, heavy rain and hail may occur at a few places of Azad Kashmir, which may disrupt normal life. The Meteorological Department has warned citizens to be careful and avoid going near weak structures such as electricity poles, trees and solar panels, as strong winds and lightning can cause damage.
Whereas, the maximum temperature expected in Azad Kashmir ranges up to 15 degrees Celsius on the other hand the minimum temperature can range up to 8 degrees Celsius. The level of humidity in air is expected at 85% and the chances of precipitation is up to 45% today.
Weather of Other Cities of Pakistan
Islamabad is also likely to have partly cloudy weather today, while rain, accompanied by hailstorm is expected in some areas.
The weather has remained hot and dry in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours, especially in the southern parts. During this time, rain was recorded in various areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Meanwhile, rain and thunderstorms have also been predicted in some areas of upper and central Punjab, while the weather is likely to remain hot and dry in southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.
According to the Meteorological Department, a severe heat wave is continuing in Karachi on Sunday, April 20, where the temperature is likely to reach 40 degrees Celsius.
Northwesterly winds are blowing in the city, coming from the hot desert of Balochistan, due to which the temperature is increasing. The PMD has directed citizens, especially children, women and the elderly, to avoid direct sunlight and drink more water. This heatwave situation is expected to continue till April 24.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain hot and dry in most areas on Monday. However, there is a possibility of scattered thunderstorms in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, which may make the weather somewhat pleasant.
