ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan has announced that all delegates, including journalists from participating countries, traveling to the Islamabad Talks 2026, will be facilitated with a Visa on Arrival arrangement.

The government of Pakistan announced that all delegates who will attend the Islamabad Talks 2026, together with journalists from participating nations, will receive Visa on Arrival treatment.

Air carriers received an order that they must permit all passengers to board their flights even when those passengers lack a confirmed visa.

The Pakistani immigration authorities will provide on-arrival visas to eligible travelers who arrive in the country based on official communication. The airports of the designated terminals now operate a facilitation desk, which provides support to participants who arrive at those locations.

The event organizers requested airlines, together with relevant authorities, to provide their complete support for establishing efficient travel processes that will enable smooth entry for event participants.

50% Discount on Train Fares for Journalists

Pakistan Railways has officially announced 50% concession on train tickets for the spouses of journalists across the country.

The decision, approved by the CEO/Senior General Manager and facilitated by the Chief Commercial Manager, allows eligible spouses to avail of a 50% discount on ten single journeys across all train classes, except Green Line (5Up/6Dn), Pak Business (33Up/34Dn), and Shah Hussain Express (43Up/44Dn).

The concession is applicable upon presentation of the required documents. Pakistan Railways officials thanked Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, for supporting the initiative.

The notification, referenced as CCM Office Letter No. 2-M&R/7000-R/2015, has been circulated to divisional superintendents in Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Karachi, and Quetta for implementation.

The move underscores Pakistan Railways’ commitment to supporting media professionals and their families while promoting accessibility to safe and affordable travel.

Spouses who meet the requirements should reach out to nearby railway stations to learn about the discount and use it for their travel needs.
