He held an important meeting with Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Minister of Finance and Inland Revenue of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor briefed the finance minister in detail about the financial problems faced by the university, budget deficit, and difficulties in continuing academic activities.

He stated that the number of students enrolled in the university is increasing, while due to limited financial resources, there is a fear that administrative and academic affairs will be affected.

On this occasion, Finance Minister Chaudhry Qasim Majeed assured the Vice Chancellor that the financial matters of Azad Kashmir University would be resolved on a priority basis and the government would provide all possible cooperation to overcome the difficulties faced by the university.

“University issues will be resolved”

The Finance Minister said that educational institutions play a fundamental role in the development of any society and the Government of Azad Kashmir will utilize all resources for the promotion of higher education.

It should be noted that earlier, fees were increased at Azad Kashmir University to deal with the financial crisis, which led to strong protests from students, but despite this, the financial crisis could not be resolved.
