SRINAGAR (Kashmir English): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has urged the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold India accountable for war crimes and its continued illegal occupation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, expressed grave concern over the unending Indian state terrorism under draconian laws.

He also condemned the suspension of Kashmiri employees from their services in the occupied territory.

The spokesman said the Indian BJP government and its “puppet-installed” Lieutenant Governor (LG) regime are suppressing Kashmiris’ freedom of speech, political rights, and political activities.

The APHC said the demand for a plebiscite is the legal right of the Kashmiri people, a right recognized by the United Nations. It added that the Indian government will never succeed in its “nefarious designs” against Kashmir, despite continued state terrorism and the use of draconian laws against the oppressed and incarcerated people of the territory.

Advocate Minhas maintained that Kashmiris remain committed to taking their demand for a plebiscite to its logical conclusion at all costs.

The APHC appealed to the United Nations to take concrete steps to implement its resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir in order to ensure durable peace in the region.
