MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A faculty member of the Department of International Relations at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) has secured the prestigious Türkiye Burslari, a fully-funded scholarship, to pursue his Master’s degree in International Relations.
The young faculty member, Saqlain Naqvi, has been currently serving as visiting Lecturer and Research Associate.
Naqvi’s remarkable achievement not only reflects his dedication and perseverance but also highlights the department’s growing reputation for nurturing globally competitive scholars who excel on international platforms.
Beginning his academic journey at UAJK in 2017 as a BS student at the Kashmir Institute of Economics, Naqvi quickly distinguished himself through talent and hard work.
In 2018, he earned a place in the highly competitive YÖK-Pakistan Scholarship Program, which enabled him to pursue his undergraduate studies in Türkiye marking the start of his international academic career.
His consistent pursuit of excellence led to further achievements, including the Erasmus+ scholarship in 2021 to study at the University of Bielsko-Biala in Poland.
The following year, he secured another Erasmus+ nomination, which gave him the opportunity to study at the Lithuania Business University of Applied Sciences (Lithuania) and the Pomeranian University in Słupsk (Poland).
These experiences broadened his academic horizon and deepened his understanding of global politics and diplomacy.
In 2023, Naqvi graduated in International Relations with an impressive 93.23% marks, earning the distinction of High Honour Student.
After returning to Pakistan, he joined the Department of International Relations at UAJK as a Visiting Lecturer and Research Associate, where he has since contributed to teaching, research, and curriculum development.
His global exposure has brought fresh perspectives and innovative teaching methods to the classroom, earning him praise from both colleagues and students.
