DUBAI (Kashmir English):A new requirement has been introduced for those seeking entry permits in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), under which applicants will now be required to submit a copy of the outer cover page of their passport.

This new regulation has been implemented by the Emirati authorities with immediate effect.

According to a report by Khaleej Times, an official notice has clarified that it is mandatory to attach the outer cover page of the passport with every application for an entry permit.

This directive has also been confirmed by a representative of the Amer Center.

The existing requirements included a copy of the applicant’s passport, a clear passport-sized photo, confirmation of hotel booking, and a return air ticket, but now the cover page of the passport has also been included in this list.

The sudden announcement of this decision is causing concern among many travelers and travel agents, as the reasons for this have not yet been revealed.

The authorities have not given any explanation as to why there is a need to submit a copy of the cover page. Experts say that this condition is likely to be imposed to make the process of document verification or identification more transparent.

People associated with the travel industry say that sometimes the cover page contains important details related to the preparation of the passport or the official emblem of the country, which can be helpful in the verification process.

It should be noted that the UAE is an attractive destination for tourists and business people from all over the world, which is why the Emirati authorities keep amending visa and entry policies from time to time.

This latest amendment is also being considered a link in the same series; however, travelers are being advised to attach complete documents, including the cover page of the passport, with the entry permit application to avoid any problems.
