DALBANDIN (Kashmir English): Security forces on Friday killed two wanted terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Killi Sardar Hashim area of Dalbandin, Balochistan, according to security sources.
During the operation, the forces effectively targeted a terrorist hideout, killing terrorists affiliated with Fitna-Al Hindustan (FAH).
According to the sources, the slain terrorists were involved in harassing passengers travelling along the Quetta-Taftan highway and spreading fear among local communities.
They used to set fire to commercial vehicles and passenger trucks on the highway, disrupting transport and commercial activity, sources stated.
In another development, sources said that forces have foiled a terrorist attack attempt on police in Chagai district, killing two militants during a pursuit and exchange of fire.
The sources said the suspects had attempted to open fire on police but were pursued by security personnel. Both were killed during the ensuing exchange of fire.
Security personnel recovered submachine guns (SMGs), a rocket launcher, a pistol and mobile phones belonging to the suspects. A search operation was also launched in the area following the incident, the sources said.
The security forces reiterated that the war against terrorism will not end until the complete elimination of those involved in attacks on civilians and acts of violence, the security sources added.
