HATTIAN BALA (Kashmir English): In a devastating incident, two brothers, Waqas and Kashif, have committed suicide by jumping into the Jhelum River near Chakothi, Jhelum Valley district, on Wednesday.

The brothers, residents of Chinari, have reportedly been under severe mental stress and heartbreak after failing their matriculation exam 2025.

The news came after the AJK BISE Mirpur announced the annual matric examination today.

According to the details, the operation is currently underway to retrieve the bodies of the two young men. The local administration and rescue teams are present at the spot, working tirelessly to recover the bodies.

The incident has left the family and the entire area in a state of grief and sorrow. This tragedy highlights the immense pressure placed on students in the education system.
