ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Apple has begun to distribute the first beta of iOS 26.3. With this beta, there are a number of changes, with the most prominent one being a feature to transfer information from an iPhone to an Android device, in addition to improved notification options for wearable devices.

We are seeing this for the first time, whereby we are finally going to have a data transfer solution between Apple and Android devices.

The new native app allows the transfer of applications, photos, contacts, messages, and other data directly from an iPhone to an Android device. In order for this process to begin, both devices will need to connect to the same Wi-Fi network.

In contrast to other solutions that solved this problem, this feature is an integrated tool on iOS. A user does not download any application.

Notification Forwarding

Presently, another big change that comes with iOS 26.3 involves the inclusion of a feature known as “Notification Forwarding,” which has been restricted for now to people in the European Union because this feature enables wearables from a third party to get notifications from an iPhone.

This feature is activated by going to Settings, then Notification, and finally Notification Forwarding. After activating this feature, users are able to select the notifications from the apps they want to allow to reach their wearables.

The feature will support just one device at a time. When an Apple Watch is connected to an iPhone, there will be no support for the forwarding of notifications to a third-party device, like a wearable device. The change was made by Apple following the guidelines of the European Union’s Digital Markets Act regarding access to iOS system services.

Weather Wallpaper Changes iOS 26.3 Beta 1 also enhances the Weather Wallpapers feature. The Wallpapers are now directly accessible from the designated part of the Lock Screen customization options menu. The final version of iOS 26.3 is expected to be released by Apple in January.
