ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the Tirah attack, which claimed the lives of innocent civilians during a peaceful protest in the Bagh Maidan area of Tirah Valley.

In an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and directed authorities to provide immediate and complete medical care to the injured. He called the attackers enemies of humanity, stating that such acts of terror cannot shake the determination of the Pakistani nation.

“The state will not rest until those behind the Tirah attack, and their supporters, are punished,” the prime minister asserted.

According to initial reports, over 17 people were injured and five lost their lives in the firing. However, an official confirmation from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is still awaited.

The Tirah attack has sparked outrage and concern across the country. Locals had gathered peacefully when they were targeted by militants, believed to be members of an outlawed extremist group.

In a show of solidarity, IG Frontier Corps (FC) North, Major General Rao Imran Sartaj, visited the injured at the FC Teaching Hospital. The victims shared their accounts of the Tirah attack and expressed satisfaction with the medical treatment being provided. They thanked the Pakistan Army and FC for their support.

Many of the injured also pledged to stand with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism, vowing not to let such cowardly attacks break the spirit of the people.

The government has reiterated its stance that operations against terrorists will continue with full force, and those responsible for the Tirah attack will be tracked down and brought to justice.
