The family protested against the health officials by blocking the road after the incident.
In another incident, two young siblings, aged 6 and 8, from the Kis Gujran area of Union Council Chowki Mong, also fell victim to snakebites. The children succumbed to the venom and passed away.
Snakebites are more common during the rainy season, and citizens are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid such incidents. Some of the recommended precautions include:
- Wearing sturdy shoes in areas with grass or bushes
- Keeping bushes around houses clean and closing holes
- Avoid sleeping in open courtyards or yards
- Carefully removing piles of wood, bricks, or belongings
In case of a snakebite, it is essential to keep the victim calm and still to prevent the venom from spreading. Then keep the bitten part below the level of the heart.
After that, avoid attempting any kind of cutting or sucking and immediately rush the victim to the nearest hospital or medical center to get antivenom.
